Hmmm... mental note to self - When the outside temperature is below 40 degrees F it is necessary to wear a turtleneck when riding a scooter!
As of June of this year I bought a cute little European style scooter. Yep... a vehicle that goes no faster than 40mph but gets 123mpg. Yes that is One HUNDRED and twenty-three miles to the gallon of gas! I love it! It's zippy and the things you smell and hear and see as opposed to driving a car are amazing.
So... this morning they had an early Christmas event at Archiver's and... hey they sent me a coupon for something free! I couldn't NOT go! Thus, I don the leather jacket, gloves and shoes. Put on my pith helmet with the hot pink flames on the side and even slide the Raybans into place. I wear polar fleece pants because I know the thermometer is just slightly north of the freezing mark (Hey... it's 8am in Idaho in November... blond yes, stupid... not usually!)
My cute electric blue Vino starts like a dream... much better than in the summer. I back up, turn around and zip out of the neighborhood and to the first light.
Red.... red... red... adjust scooter on stop line to make sure I will trip the light... red... Green. Roll handle towards me, push off with my feet and head off with the breeze blowing crisp clean air on my face.
The road is straight and each mile there is a stop. By the time I reach the first stop I am about to turn around! I have yet to do the mathematical equation to figure the wind chill factor but my neck is blue and my ears are so cold they actually hurt! By the time I travel the 7 miles to Archiver's I can no longer feel my neck and am wondering what the prognosis for frostbite in this area are... they cut off frozen toes :0
Well... I think I single-handedly drank all the Starbucks they bought and then stayed until 11 doing make-and-takes waiting for the sun to come out a little so it would warm up a bit! I can't normally spend too much when I ride my scooter because the basket on the back of it and the storage in the seat doesn't hold that much but today I did ALL of the make-and-takes... I do believe Archiver's likes my scooter as much as I do!
The 2-page layout is cute but I probably don't need another Christmas layout. The card is wonderful and someone will receive it. But the altered box with stationary is adorable! I even bought extra boxes to make these as gifts. I will post them when I get the photo's taken care of!
And for the Geek side... According to NOAA the wind chill traveling at 40mph at a temperature of 30 degrees would have been 13 degrees F which means that frostbite sets in in approximately 30 minutes... Good thing the ride is only about 15 minutes;)

It was good to see you today, Jen! :) Glad you didn't lose any appendages to frostbite!
How fun! I thought about going (even though I didn't get the free coupon) but I was without children and didn't wake up until the crack of 10am! Glad you had a good time even if it was a bit cold.
